Stirling Trailer Centre is relocating to a £1million purpose-built facility at United Auctions’ Stirling Agricultural Centre, creating three new jobs and taking their total workforce to 14.
The family-run company is the principal distributor of the market-leading Ifor Williams’ trailers in Central and West of Scotland with a large stock of new and used trailers for sale together with an extensive trailer spares department, servicing and repairs centre, commercial workshop, and a growing hire fleet.
The move from Bandeath Industrial Estate in Throsk to the standalone 8,000 sq. ft. premises in The Paddock at the headquarters of Scotland’s leading livestock auctioneers ensures a modern, fit-for-purpose distribution service for the company’s expanding customer base, which extends from Perth to Mid Lothian, the Islands, the north of Glasgow, and Fife.
Stirling Trailer Centre joins national agri brands such as Galbraith, Johnston Carmichael, Ledingham Chalmers, Agricar and Carrs Billington who already call the Stirling Agricultural Centre home.
Jayne Gray, co-owner of the Stirling Trailer Centre with husband Robin, said: “Everyone knows where the Agricultural Centre is, with its central location and easy motorway access to and from the rest of Scotland. We’ll be much more accessible for thousands of farmers who can book a same-day service for their trailers while they do business at the mart.
“It also allows us to consolidate our growing range of services under one new roof, making the company more efficient, and giving us the ability to expand by adding more lines to meet customers’ needs – and to showcase over 100 trailers on the site.”
Neil McLean, Chairman of United Auctions who led on the tenancy and building project, which started over a year ago, said: “Jayne and Robin run a progressive, enterprising and growing company. What they’ve achieved is a great credit to their hard work and determination and we look forward to working with them in the future.”
George Purves, Managing Director of United Auctions, said: “We’re delighted Stirling Trailer Centre is relocating to Stirling Agricultural Centre. Its inclusion adds to the already impressive line-up of agri and rural services and perfectly complements our offering to the farming community.”
Plans are in development for an official open day later this year.
